Chad Savage, MD ~ Your Choice Direct Care

A mainstay from virtually the very beginning of “Nuts & Bolts to 2.0”, Doc Savage will be upping his game beyond the standard panel to moderating the highlight of the conference – “Case Studies in DPC Startups“.


Dr. Chad Savage founded YourChoice Direct Care to practice primary care with a clear focus on the patient and their health. Adopting the Direct Primary Care model allows Dr. Savage to focus on his patients’ needs without worrying about meeting meaningless requirements set by insurance companies and Medicare.

Dr. Savage has been in practice since 2003. He graduated from the University of Michigan prior to receiving his MD from the prestigious Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his residency training at the renowned Washington University School of Medicine and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO where he became skilled in the management of complex medical disorders. Dr. Savage finds satisfaction in helping patients improve their quality of life by leading healthier lives.

Dr. Savage grew up in Hartland, Michigan and is formerly an expert class Motocross racer. Although, he doesn’t actively race, Dr. Savage still enjoys watching Motocross races. Dr. Savage is happily married and has two children. In his spare time he and his family are involved in their church and other family activities.

Paul Thomas, MD ~ Plum Health DPC

Paul Thomas, MD, FAAFP is a board-certified family medicine physician practicing in Corktown Detroit.

His practice is Plum Health DPC, a Direct Primary Care service that is the first of its kind in Detroit and Wayne County. His mission is to deliver affordable, accessible health care services in Detroit and beyond.

Paul has been featured on PBS, WDIV-TV Channel 4, WXYZ Channel 7, Crain’s Detroit Business, and CBS Radio. He has been a speaker at TEDxDetroit. He is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine and now a Clinical Assistant Professor.

Finally, he is an author of three books, including Direct Primary Care: The Cure for Our Broken Healthcare System and Startup DPC: How to Start and Grow Your Direct Primary Care Practice.

Lee Gross, MD ~ Epiphany Heath & President of Docs 4 Patient Care Foundation

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Gross received his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University. Following graduation, Gross coordinated years of clinical cardiology research for the nation’s leading Cleveland Clinic cardiology program before attending Case Western Reserve University’s School of Medicine. He completed his family medicine training as the elected chief resident at University Hospitals of Cleveland.

He has been in private practice in Southwest Florida since 2002. He is a pioneer in the Direct Primary Care delivery model, frequently speaking at national meetings, conducting media interviews about market-based health care innovations and writing articles for national publications.

He is a healthcare consultant to physician practices, medical organizations, insurance groups, hospitals and private businesses. He is the founder and Chairman of DPC Action, a non-profit national Direct Primary Care advocacy and social welfare organization. He is consulted by lawmakers and policy leaders on local, state and national health policy initiatives, including formal testimony before the US Senate and consultation with several federal agencies, and The White House.
